You need to think of the little things. Just because a trash can is where your dirt goes, doesn’t mean you can’t have a NICE trash can.
BELIEVE me, from personal experience, you would be amazed at how many people will compliment you on a nice bin.
It was actually a topic of conversation at a dinner party once, and on 2 seperate occasions I’ve had people offer to empty my trash can JUST to see how it works… Now if THAT’s not a good reason to get a cool trash can, I don’t know what is.
Because we don’t have space to hide the bin, it is out in the open in the kitchen, and now a feature. Leave a comment and I’ll tell you what make of trash can I have. 😉
Anyway, it’s not just the trash can. It could be your key rack, or your fruit bowl. or even the coasters on your coffee table in the lounge. Look around you at the little things, and try and think what a difference it would be if you chose something that was nice to look at as well as functional.

wow, how much do you spend on your trash cans? 🙂
Thanks for all your comments… It was quite expensive, but it has a 10 year guarantee, and it looks DAMN good, if I do say so myself 😉
It’s a Brabantia… Go check them out.
It’s odd how many people just never think of this. I totally agree that a waste basket can be a great decor piece. I found a round one thats in real walnut wood. I think they had other woods too – it was from Carver Wood
